chapmanbdsp is an independent design consultancy specialising in building services engineering and environmental design. They practice an integrated and holistic design approach which has seen them deliver world-class projects over a range of sectors, across 32 countries. With a hand in some of the world’s most iconic schemes and charity collaborations, chapmanbdsp have made a significant impact within the industry over their 45 years of existence. 

They joined Cubic Interactive in August this year, taking on our main Rapport3 Project Costing module along with our HR, CRM, Twinfield Accounts and Twinfield integration. They previously were using Workspace by Deltek/Union Square, being one of the early adopters of the software. They had invested significant time and effort in getting the solution customised for their needs and found it particularly challenging getting the product to work with their Navision accounts package.

When their existing solution was taken over by a US software company, chapmanbdsp started experiencing issues that were challenging the efficiency of the enquiry to delivery process. With customer support issues taking longer to be resolved and the implementation of new updates causing their customisation to stop working, it was time for them to find a new solution.

Their Commercial Director, Ray McManus, led a very senior steering group that reviewed all the products on the market to choose a replacement. After shortlisting two packages, they involved all of the business in workshops to put both applications through their paces, aiming to determine which solution would suit their needs best. 

The workshops focused on the key requirements identified by the following groups:

• New Business
• People & Culture
• Project Finance
• Practice Finance

We are delighted to announce that our Rapport3 solution was chosen after such a rigorous selection process. The project is progressing at pace because chapmanbdsp have already given all areas of the business visibility via the workshop process.

As well as selecting Rapport3, they have chosen to replace their Navision Accounts package with Twinfield (Wolters Kluwer). As they struggled to get their existing solution and Navision working together, Ray’s team were pleased they could speak to clients who had been successfully using Rapport3 and Twinfield for many years. Additionally, they appreciated that set-up, training and support would be managed by Cubic.
