David Chipperfield's design submission for the Dallas Museum of Art competition is on display at the museum and online.
David Chipperfield Architects is one of the six firms shortlisted for the project. This project aims to make the museum bigger, easier to reach, and more welcoming to all.
The design of the architectural practice was inspired by the DMA campus and its immediate urban surroundings. A culturally and socially relevant, environmentally conscious strategy has its roots in an appraisal of the Museum's most admirable traits.
The other shortlisted practices are Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Johnston Marklee, Michael Maltzan Architecture, Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos and Weiss/Manfredi. A winner is expected to be announced in August.
