A Life In Work: Danielle Cahill

Our Marketing team caught up with Danielle Cahill, following her recent promotion to Associate Director.

Rapport3 Consulting Engineers Project costing Consulting Engineers Darmody Architecture

Danielle has worked with the Cubic team for over 7 years and has gained a wealth of experience at Cubic in addition to her experience in previous roles.

Take us through your career journey that led you here?
When asked about her career journey Danielle said: “I initially started my degree in business and Italian in Dublin with a specialization in accountancy. Following this I then started working with Deloitte, completing my chartered accountancy exams, and then worked in financial services.”

“I have always had a keen interest in art, design, and interior design, which then attracted me to Purcell Architects as part of their Finance Team. Whilst I was working as an accountant, in a completely different industry, I was extremely excited to work in an industry that I had a genuine passion for. As a project management accountant, I was tasked with reviewing Purcell's current processes, which is where I came across Rapport3. I was involved internally with the implementation of Rapport3, liaising with the cubic team, to prepare Purcell to go live with the system.”

“Following this, I moved to Louise Bradley, a high-end interior design practice in London. With my previous experience, I knew the potential benefits that Rapport3 could bring to a professional service practice, so I embarked on another Rapport3 implementation. Whilst understandably it would be different as it was a smaller company with its own unique requirements, it was the obvious choice out of competitors.”

“Following 5 years of experience on the client side, I then began working with the Cubic team. Initially I started working as Head of Operations, leading our new clients through a smooth implementation, and prioritising their customer journey. My background in finance was truly relevant in my new role, especially as we brought on new clients, often working closely with CFO’s and finance teams. I enjoy the tech side to managing projects, budgets and looking at figures, so it was a great fit and next career step.”

“Alongside my colleague, Liam Booth, we grew the Customer Experience team, allowing us to focus our efforts on our customer service and ensure our clients got the most out of Rapport3. Within which, we implemented regular client catchups, focus groups, webinars, user groups and social events, helping us bring everyone together and strengthen our relationships with existing clients.

“In 2014, when I joined Cubic, there were only 10 employees and 40 clients. We now have almost 40 employees with over 200 clients across the AEC using Rapport3. It is great to be part of an evolving company, whose growth is evidence of its continued success”

How did you navigate the journey to where you are now?
When asked about her career journey, Danielle commented “Where I am now is not where I thought I would be when I started my career over 15 years ago. I started this journey with an open mind and have taken many turns and diversions in my career path, instead of trying to follow one direction. I think a key to this is being open-minded, following what you feel is a right fit for you at that time as it is so important to enjoy and be happy in what you are doing.”

What are your plans for the company with your new role?
When asked about how her plans for the company with her new role, Danielle answered “I am really excited about my new role; I am looking after the Operations and Customer Experience Teams. Having led both in the past, I can help improve how we are doing things by engaging with both teams. I am also excited to be supporting and mentoring the team as they grow.”

“This role is also an opportunity to work across departments internally, firstly giving me an introduction to clients earlier on in the sales process. This means I am there throughout their journey from the start. In addition, I really enjoy working with the development team, to map out new processes and development lead by client feedback. This role also opens more opportunities to get involved strategically, where my input will help shape the future path for Cubic.”

“I am looking forward to the future with this role and any challenges coming, that with my experience I can ensure we overcome.”

Congratulations Danielle, we are excited to see what you achieve in your new role.
